The Wyoming FFA hosts 18 different career and leadership development events for students that cover a diverse array of job skills from communications to mechanics.  In some events students can compete as individuals or as teams.

The theme this year will be ecosystems, and thus the team activity topic will be centered on that theme. We would recommend instructors to the FFA national events outline to prepare their students. Our individual practicums this year will include: soil profile (with parameters as dictated by the Oklahoma Land Judging guide), water analysis, GPS locations, and waste management.  Students will score the individual events using the ENR scorecard.

CDE Sweepstakes Award Information

Chapters participating in the Career Development Event Sweepstakes must compete in five of the following eleven areas: Agricultural Sales, Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems,  Agronomy, Environmental & Natural Resources, Farm and Agribusiness Management, Horse Evaluation, Marketing Plan, Meats Evaluation and Technology, Livestock Evaluation, Poultry Evaluation and Veterinary Science (2013). The chapter with the highest placing in five of the eleven areas will win the sweepstakes.

Junior High Career Development Event Opportunities

The Wyoming FFA Association will offer a “Junior High Contest” for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in Horse Evaluation, Livestock Evaluation, Meat Evaluation and Poultry Evaluation. These students will not give reasons, but one should review the Wyoming CDE manuals for contest rules and regulations. One team per chapter.
